This process does NOT work if you try using the numbers on the TOP of your keyboard. Upon releasing the alt key the symbol  appears on screen. Using a regular, physical PC keyboard this can be accomplished by pressing and holding the right alt key and then pressing and releasing consecutively 0 then 1 then 9 then 4 ON THE KEYPAD AT THE RIGHT OF PC KEYBOARDS then releasing the right alt key.
(The symbol  is ascii decimal character 0194.) I am attempting to use an Arduino Micro to print an extended ascii character (Â) in notepad on a windows computer.
